What have I done?

I think I am going to be in big trouble when Adam gets home from Georgia. (Say the last part of that sentence with an accent... It's lots more fun!)
I have been wanting to repaint the upstairs of my house for quite awhile. I kept telling myself that as soon as we got the basement done, I would do it. Well, the basement is done.
Adam is back from his FIVE WEEKS IN MEXICO. I didn't want to do such a big project without his help.
I didn't have anything going on yesterday so I thought I would take the decorations off the walls. Then off the shelves. Then I might as well go grab a sample of the color I was thinking about. Nope don't like that one. Tried another one. Nope don't like that one. Guess I will just keep trying until I get it right!
Meanwhile, Adam is in Georgia. Like five weeks in Mexico wasn't enough. He comes home tomorrow, and he is in for a treat. He is coming home to one ugly house. Nothing on the walls, everything stacked in a corner and big spots of color painted here and there.
Hopefully Adam won't ground me for a month so I can keep working on it. I know it's a huge project, but I am so excited!

November 25, 2009

I missed blogging about a very important event.
It took place on November 25th 2009.
Breeley learned how to ride her bike without her training wheels.
For a brief moment we had nothing going on and hoping to spend some time outside, I thought I would take the training wheels off and see how she did. I knew she had really not been using them much when she did ride her bike, so I didn't think it would take her long to catch on. Boy did she do it quickly! It went from "Mom, don't let go!" to "Mom, let go!" in about 7 minutes. We went around the block a few times and then over to the Olers house since all three of her brothers were there so she could show them. Then we rode over to Maddie's house to show her. By the time we got done at Maddie's house, Adam was home so I called him and told him to wait for us on the front porch and she rode by. It was hilarious! She was so proud of herself! The best part is... she still can do it now!

Photoshop

Adam has been in Mexico for work for a few weeks and I had the chance to visit him this weekend. I flew in Thursday and get to stay until Monday. On Friday he had classes to attend so I had a special day of hanging out at the hotel and having some peace and quiet.
I have been collecting notes and tips/tricks for photoshop and was waiting for a time like this to experiment with it.
This is my very first picture. After I posted this one of Addison in my last post, I knew for sure this is the one I wanted to try and fix first.
I know it could be better in many many ways, but I think it definitely looks better now than it did straight out of the camera. What do you think?

Today Addison asked me where the "finger pliers" were?

He said he had a sliver in his finger.

Junior Jazz Night!!!

Hagen was so excited to go to the game! He is the Jazz's NUMBER 1 FAN!
Addison had fun too! He likes watching the game and the crazy people.

Breeley had fun dancing around. She loved watching the Jazz Dancers!

We also brought Abell and his friend Eric with us. But they decided to sit in Eric's seats across the stadium. They had fun being by themselves and doing their own thing.
(Hence no pictures of them.)
We had a great time! The game was exciting and the Jazz won!!
Can't ask for anything better than that!!!

Simply Sweet!

Do you remember when I posted about making this...

and this...

and then I loved the fabric so much I made this...

Then I made this...

and this...

I loved it so much that when it was time to switch runners, I couldn't part with it so I hung the table runner on the ribbon dowel in my sewing/happy room.

All this fabric is designed by Barbara Jones of Quilt Soup! She designed a new line for this spring. I saw it at Sew n Save last week and fell in love. But I was there to buy more Simple Abundance. I had to be a good girl, so I looked at it, and touched it, and fell in love with it, but I left it there.
I couldn't stand it any longer. I took Breeley there yesterday to buy a couple fat quarters to make new dresses for her baby doll Raegan.
These are the ones she picked out...

Isn't it great that the colors match the line from last year!
I found Barbara's website about a month ago and have been following it and she had a contest. Of course I had to enter... she was giving away a fabulous prize. Six fabulous prizes actually!
Guess What????
I WON!!! I WON TWO PRIZES!!!!
I am so super excited! I can't wait to receive the fabric.
I am going to have to be really careful to not get any drool on it.

I am going to have so much fun sewing away these last few months of winter!
