My baby boy is growing up!

So it is official.
Abell is growing up.
I am so sad.

Yesterday we attended registration for West Point Junior High. He will have seven teachers everyday and he is very excited. For the moment he has selected theatre, art, keyboarding and general music for his electives. He is also thinking about doing percussion but that is a full year class so he would have to take away two of the other electives. I am sad to say, but I really think he is ready for it. I think it will make him feel so much older and hopefully more responsible.

A funny little story about a box!

So I have been busy cleaning/painting/caulking my new "Happy Room" and I came across this box. I was going to go take it to the garbage can outside, but then thought I would quickly snap a picture of it and post a funny story about it.

One night a few weeks ago Adam and I were up watching TV and it was like 10:30 or 11:00 pm. All of a sudden Addison walked into our room with his head stuck in this box! We tried pulling it off and had to actually rip it to get it past his ears. It was soooo soooo sad. When we got the box off, his face was red, sweaty, and had tears streaming down his cheeks. I quickly gave him a hug and his hair smelled like cardboard. He said he had been sleeping with the box on his head. We felt so sad. We thought he had put the box on his head, got it stuck, and fell asleep trying/crying to get it off. Not to mention I was mad at Abell and Hagen for not helping him.

The next morning we got the real story...

All three boys were playing a basketball game with Hagen's little over the door rim. (After we had tucked them in.) Abell had told Addison he wasn't very good at basketball which made him feel bad which made him decide to put the box on his head! (Makes sense right???) Well he sat on his bed with the box on his head and decided to see what it would be like to sleep with a box on his head. So he propped the "front left corner" on the rail of his top bunk and off he went to dream land. He said he had no idea "How hot it would get in there!" When he woke up and tried to get the box off, he discovered it was stuck on his ears! So that is why he came upstairs to get help.
We were so relieved to hear the real story so we didn't have to be so sad that he fell asleep trying to get the box off his head. Now we can just laugh about it because it was something he chose to do. We did give him a strict warning on NEVER going to sleep with anything on his head! No boxes, sacks or masks or anything else!!!

Hello Out There!

Helloooo out there!
So, I realize it has been along time since I have done a post. But we have been so busy that I just really haven't had the time. As some of you know our family made a goal to not drink pop for an entire year (In 2007). I know it sounds dumb but it really was a neat experience for us or maybe just me. But the reward for doing it was a trip to Disneyland. (I knew we were going to be going so it was really like killing two birds with one stone.) But due to my ability of being really good at procrastinating, I never sat down and got it planned last year. So I decided THIS January that I needed to just do it. We decided to go over Hagen's birthday since he would get in free with their new promotion. So that is the reason for my lack of posts. I have been busy planning, packing, purchasing, loading, driving, standing in lines, riding rides, swimming, and driving. My plan was to post pictures each night so family members could see them but Adam's laptop doesn't have a SD drive and I didn't pack any camera cords so that changed things.

I am going to post some Disneyland pictures, but while I work on that look at these cute crafts at http://www.sawdustsanity.blogspot.com/. They make me so excited for SPRING SPRING SPRING!!!

You really should check out her blog and order something! They are way cute! You can pay through paypal and I could pick them up for you while I take Breeley to school!

One of my favorite things to do!

One of my favorite places to be is Lava Hot Springs in Idaho. I love being there
with my family in the summer camping in our trailer riding the river and playing in the pool. I love to watch Adam and Hagen jump off the platforms. Sitting around a campfire roasting marshmellows, and looking at all my kids with their faces painted by each other. It really is a lot of fun.

But... I love to be there in the winter with just me and Adam. For several years now Adam and I and some of our friends have gone up in February for a fun getaway. This year we decided to stay for two nights and it was a great decision. Unfortunately this year not as many couples were able to go with us, but we really had a ton of fun with the Dicou's and White's.

We parked our car when we got there and didn't have to use it the entire time we were there. I think that is one of the reasons why I like Lava so much. Everything is so close that you can walk everywhere you want to go. We ate out, played Canasta for hours and hours, soaked in the hot pots, stayed up too late and slept in late.
It really was so much fun!
