I made a new cover for my ironing board. I think it turned out great!

A Direct Quote.

Time: 8:45 AM

Breeley: "Mom, can I play with Madie?"
Mom: "Not right now, your not dressed.. your hair is not done.. Madie's not dressed.. Madie's hair is not done. Maybe in a little while."

Two minutes pass.

Breeley: "UUUUUAAAAA... Mom, don't you know... waiting makes girls very angry!"

Look what I have been doing!

This is what I have been up to lately. They are a table runner for my front entryway server and a table topper for my kitchen table. I chose some really fun bright fabric for the spring/summer. I had a lot of fun making them for two reasons... 1. It just really was fun to do. I haven't done a lot of the steps before. (ex. binding, stippling, etc.) and 2. I was able to spend a lot of time in my new scrapbook/sewing/happy room! I will post pictures of that as soon as I get to IKEA to buy a shelf for the wall. Now I need to get a new centerpiece for my kitchen table! Maybe I will find something at IKEA.

I tried, I really did.

I really did try to live without a computer. I gave it a good shot. Really... I did a good job. I am proud of myself. But I have broken down. Adam texted me the other day from South Carolina and said "Do you want me to buy you a computer?" I texted back "Please do!" So he ordered it last night. The only bad part is it won't ship until May 8th! Oh well, at least there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Now, my only problem is how to get all my pictures and young women lists and such off my old hard drive and onto my new computer??? I am sure we will figure something out! I am so excited it is going to be so cute. It is grey and pink!

Enjoying Ourselves Completely!

So we decided a couple weeks ago to go to Zion's for Easter weekend. It is a big trip that was planned very quickly. Our friends told us about a campground that was really nice so we gave them a call and they said there was one space left, and we took it. I will be honest. I wasn't really sure I was ready to go on another trip so soon after Disneyland, but the kids were really excited so I just kept going along with it and before I knew it... we were here.
I actually didn't even start packing for it until Wednesday afternoon, and we left Thursday morning. I had to give the trailer a quick look over to see what we had removed over the winter. (I missed restocking a few items.) But for the most part, we have every thing we need.
Zions has been amazing. Yesterday we hiked the Emerald Pools. Top, middle and bottom. We did the whole circle. We ate lunch at the top pools and it was amazing. The waterfall kept misting us as we ate. It felt great! I was so proud if Addison and Breeley. They hiked the whole time with out complaining!
When we hit the first switchback Addison sat on a rock and said "Oh I need to rest, my feet are killing me." Adam and I looked at eachother and thought "this is going to be a long hike!" Addison stood up started hiking and didn't say another word about his feet.
Today Adam, Hagen, and Abell went to Zion's to hike Angel's Landing. It looked too intense for Addison and especially Breeley so I stayed back at the trailer with them. I am jealous that I didn't get to go on the hike, but I have had a blast with Addi and Bree. We did an Easter craft, went on an Easter egg hunt (both put on by the resort), played Skip Bo, Ping Pong, played on the big wooden swing set, watched part of a movie, and we still have about 3 hours before the boys get back. I am so excited to hear about the hike!
This really has been an amazing weekend!
Unfortunately, Addison and Breeley are begging to get into the pool as I type this. I don't think I can hold them back much longer. It is just a bit too cold for me to get in. But if I don't get in... they can't either! I may end up swimming the afternoon away.

Mother Bored!

Two years ago Adam bought me a very nice HP laptop. It was beautiful. It had a large 17 inch screen, the NEW windows Vista, a 10 key pad, all the bells and whistles. I was so excited. It was one of the most beautiful things I owned. Eleven months into my ownership it started to have problems. I gave HP a call and they went through a few things with me and decided that my motherboard was bad. They sent me a box overnight by Fedex. I put my beloved laptop inside with an orange sticky note with my login password and sealed it with a kiss.
It was gone 10 days. It was a long 10 days.
But... it came back and was working great (except the vista problems). I used it for another 13 months and then... the same things started happening.
I called HP. They said for 49.00 I could call them and ask them as many questions I wanted for 14 whole days! I said "nevermind".
I took it to PC Laptops, they ran a few tests for free! The diagnosis was what I didn't want to hear, but already knew. The motherboard is dead. I can order a new one from HP for about 500-600 dollars. Wow!
So I have been living without it for about three weeks now. I have broken my habit of blog surfing, and checking email 100 times a day. I quit shopping online cold turkey. That was hard, but I did it.
Now I am in discussions with Adam on buying a new laptop/desktop. When should we do it? How much is it going to cost? What should we buy? It is driving Adam crazy that he can't send me an email in the middle of the day, or chat with me via instant message. (how we communicate 80% of the time!)
I am leaning toward waiting, and spending the money finishing the basement. I am thinking my childrens lives are more important than a computer. And if they don't get somewhere new to play that is not under my feet, I am going to go crazy mad. Who knows if I will be able to hold out long enough with no computer, but I think I am going to give it a try. I have seen the bottom of my sink, and I have swept up crumbs off the floor more in the last three weeks than I have in the last three months.
It kinda feels nice.
