Simply Sweet!

Do you remember when I posted about making this...

and this...

and then I loved the fabric so much I made this...

Then I made this...

and this...

I loved it so much that when it was time to switch runners, I couldn't part with it so I hung the table runner on the ribbon dowel in my sewing/happy room.

All this fabric is designed by Barbara Jones of Quilt Soup! She designed a new line for this spring. I saw it at Sew n Save last week and fell in love. But I was there to buy more Simple Abundance. I had to be a good girl, so I looked at it, and touched it, and fell in love with it, but I left it there.
I couldn't stand it any longer. I took Breeley there yesterday to buy a couple fat quarters to make new dresses for her baby doll Raegan.
These are the ones she picked out...

Isn't it great that the colors match the line from last year!
I found Barbara's website about a month ago and have been following it and she had a contest. Of course I had to enter... she was giving away a fabulous prize. Six fabulous prizes actually!
Guess What????
I WON!!! I WON TWO PRIZES!!!!
I am so super excited! I can't wait to receive the fabric.
I am going to have to be really careful to not get any drool on it.

I am going to have so much fun sewing away these last few months of winter!

The Tiny Pinwheels

I have three shelves that are on the side of the island in my kitchen. I love the shelves and have used them for many different things over the years I have lived in my house. I have usually used tea towels as little runners on the shelves but wanted to make some little runners out of the same Simple Abundance fabric I used on the table runner for my buffet.
I decided to try making PINWHEELS. I have never made them before and after my first batch of 8, I was thinking I wasn't going to try making them ever again. They were tiny, and took forever to make. But after thinking about it for a bit, I realized that it doesn't really matter how long it takes me to make something, as long as I am having fun and maybe learning a few tricks or short cuts, I should do it. So I made 13 more pinwheels. It really was fun, a little tedius, but fun. I should have added a bit of a border, but I ran out of room. The runner would have gotten to big to fit on the shelf. Oh well, it still looks cute to me. Now on to the next one...

Romantic??

Breeley received some cute coloring books for Christmas. Coloring is one of her most favorite things to do these days. (That and play with her new baby doll.) Three of the coloring books came with little posters.
We hung them up before bed on Wednesday night and after we were done Breeley clasped her hands together with a big smile and said "There.... nice and romantic."
I said "What?"
She replied "It's just so beautiful."

Sewing up a storm!

Just wanted to show something else I have made. I found a tutorial for these cute little wallets online and thought they would be the cutest Christmas gifts for my sassy scrapping friends. Every year we go to Swiss Days in Midway and a wallet this size will be perfect. It has a place for the debit cards, ID's, cash, and a cell phone pocket!

Glorious!

Did you know????

That if you push PLAY when you are in the list mode (Directv) it will play all ten episodes of Maggie and the Ferocious Beast consecutively!!! You don't have to go in every 20 minutes to start the new episode?
The highlight of my day was when I read the tiny print and discovered this!
Breeley loves her beast!

Don't worry.... there is no way she will really watch 10 episodes!

Breeley is opening up shop!

What is that saying???? Like mother like daughter?

Well one afternoon I was sewing in my office/scrapbook/sewing/happy room and Breeley was hanging out with me. She usually colors in her coloring books while I work. I wasn't really paying attention to what she was doing and before I knew it, she was making purses!!! She thought this out all by herself. Super cute!

Would you rather????

We have this game called "Would Your Rather???"
It asks you silly questions like...
"Would you rather.... have your hand in cement for a week, or your foot in cement for a month?

Hagen and Addison were playing it and the question was...

Would you rather have eyes the size of golfballs, or have teeth the size of computer keys????

Addison's answer... "I already have eyes the size of golfballs!!!"
Love my Whopper eye boy!

Look what I have made.

I just finished sewing a fun little table runner for our entryway buffet. It is made from Moda's Simple Abundance line of fabric. I don't know why, but I absolutely love making things like this. They are so fun and I love having them to look at as I walk past it every day. I am going to try and make a new one for every month. This one is for January! By June, I might be terribly sick of sewing them, let alone thinking of, or finding new patterns to use, but I will try. What else am I going to do while all my children are in school. It gets very quiet around here, and honestly, cleaning is no where near as much fun. And try as I might, I never feel as proud of having a clean toilet as I do having a new table runner. Go figure.

Christmas (Finally)

Christmas pajamas.
Note to self... just because you have bought your older boys a few clothes in the mens section size small, it does not mean you should buy them mens mediums just in case they shrink. Abell and Hagen will most definitely wear out these pajama's before they grow out of them. But they totally love them and have lived in them for the last two weeks!
Abell received clothes, snowboarding goggles (no board, much to his sadness) and an ipod touch.
Good thing he is in absolute love with it.
It helped him get over the no snowboard thing quickly.
Whoops not pictured is his blanket made for him with love.

Hagen received the goalie shirt and gloves he was wanting. Plus a few other things, including a Utah Jazz blanket made with love.

Addison received the book Dinomummy that he had been wanting. Plus a few Wii games that are not in the picture. He loves his frog blanked made with love.

Breeley is in love with her new baby doll she named Raegan. Two weeks later, she is still carrying her everywhere. She asked Santa for the Barbie horse and was happy to receive it. She loves her monkey blanket!
We had a fantastic Christmas. I was not sure we would make it through the month with all we had going on. It was so super busy all month long between school, friends, basketball practices, and .... finishing the basement in record time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We are so excited to have all the extra room for playing and playing and playing.
Pictures coming soon!!!
