Let the adventure begin...

Adam and Kenny's adventure has begun.
The goal for today is Lincoln Nebraska.
Adam is planning on driving the most today so Kenny can sleep since he is such a great guy and worked last night. Not many people would show up for their last shift. Especially when it invloves working the graveyard shift... Christmas night.... the night before you move across the country to attend med school for three years... and the night before the adventure of a lifetime begins. (Driving across the country with your coolest brother ever.)

Those that stayed home are going to spend the time enjoying Christmas presents, watching movies, catching up on blogging, and sleeping sleeping sleeping.

Stay tuned for the adventure updates... I am sure it is going to include lots of Mountain Dew, Pepsi and laughing at absolutely nothing.

Abell's Play.

Abell was in the play Guys and Dolls. He was a gambler. He was in a lot of different scene's. He had so much fun. He did such a super job. I am so proud of him. I can tell we have many many more plays in our future. Thanks to everyone for coming and supporting him. He loved performing for all of you.

Girls Weekend.

We were snowed in. Darn it!
The girls watched movies together.

They played in the snow.

Burrr!

They painted nails.

They made up dances.

They applied stickers to each other.

Last weekend Breeley and I went to Aunt Sharee's cabin up in the Uintahs. We have been going up there for several years as an adult girls weekend. This year we decided to take the little girls at the last minute.
Breeley packed pretty much everything in her room from her princess dress to her rock collection.
We had so much fun. The snow was beautiful, and it snowed everyone in for an extra night. I don't think Breeley has every had more fun in her entire life. The older girls played so well with the younger ones. It was a great weekend.
Thanks for all the fun.

Abell's play opens tomorrow night.

We are all so excited.

They have been working so hard.

It is going to be great!

I was even able to track down a copy of the play Guys and Dolls that Adam performed in at Clearfied High. It was fun for us to watch. Thanks Annice! You are the best!

Wanna See??

This is what I have been up to.
I purchased this "Antique Secretaries Desk" from KSL.
It was a dark brown color. Not cute.
Had lots of bumps and bruises.
So I stripped all the glazeyish stuff off.
Sanded off as much of the dark brown stain.
Then decided to paint it black instead of white.

This is why I decided to go black. Do you see the little baby shelves there in the back. There is no way I would be able to get it sanded down enough to get white paint to look good on it.
Plus, those shelves are not even real wood. How rude?

I painted it. Then painted it again. Then sanded off all the edges.
I thought something like this would be nice to have in my office.
I can set the TV on it and use the drawers to store my "chickie flickies".
It turned out pretty darned cute.
Total Price...
Desk... 30.00 (Talked down from 50)
Stripping supplies... 10.00 (I work cheap)
Paint... 16.00
Total cost... 56.00
Now I get to make a fun little mat for the tv to sit on. Happy Day!

Halloween... Kinda

Okay... So this is a picture of the kids before Halloween. We were going to a Halloween party hosted by the fabulous Katie Simonson. The kids always have a riot playing with all the cousins. I did take lots of pics, but the kids were running around so much that they are too blurry. Man I need a new GOOD camera. Anyway...

Abell is a hunter, Hagen and Addison are Jedi's and Breeley is a cupcake!
Night of Trick or Treating. Abell and Eric dressed up as some camo nurf gun somethings...

Breeley the cupcake!

Raegan the MoNSter!

Hannah Montana AKA Kenna!
That's it folks. No Halloween pics of Hagen and Addison.
See Hagen has a plan to go trick or treating with some friends.
When said group of friends arrived.
Hagen left.
No "See-ya later mom."
No "hey mom my friends are here, can I leave?"
No "Hey mom, my friends are here, do you want to take a picture of us?"
Nothing.
And then...
Addison left.
He literally grabbed his costume and took off out the door. I am assuming he put half of it on as he was running after Hagen and said friends. I only can assume that because when I finally found them... cough cough... I saw them trick or treating across the street 20 minutes later. Addison had his costume on.. sort of... meaning half of it was in his hands and half was on his body. I ran and fixed him up and made sure Hagen understood he was in charge of keeping track of Addison. Yes, I must admit. It is nice to have one child that you can depend on to be responsible while having fun.
Breeley had an amazing time trick or treating with Adam. She had to come home and empty her bag three times because it had gotten so full. Each time she emptied it onto her bed, placed a pillow over the pile and told me to make sure "THE BOYS" stayed OUT of her room.
I enjoyed staying home, keeping dinner warm, and sitting on the front porch handing out candy. I read my book in between groups of trick or treaters. I thoroughly was enjoying myself. A couple from the ward saw me reading and came over to say hello. I think they were feeling bad for me that I was sitting there reading. But, I was actually very content to be doing what I was doing.
I gave them each a piece of candy and sent them on their way.
My observation of Halloween this year is.... You sure can't tell we are in a recession. My kids bags were loaded down with sweet treats. It was the best year ever in their opinion.

Syracuse Pumpkin Walk

Addison thought these pumkins were funny.

Breeley standing next to her pumkin.

Bree wanted her picture taken with the Kung Fu Panda pumpkins.

After EIGHT YEARS we finally got smart. We went to the pumkin walk BEFORE dark. It was lovely. It was warm, there was no line, we didn't feel rushed, we could stop for pictures. It was lovely. Breeley's pumkin originally had a witches hat on it. She was sad that it didn't make it to the pumkin walk with her pumkin. But she got over it soon enough.
We love to go to this pumkin walk and even though we will no longer have Kiddie Kollege pumkins, I am sure it is a tradition we will continue.

Breeley's trip to the Dairy Farm

I wish you could see all the flies that were on the food. All the dark on the corn was solid flies.
It was gross. Flies were everywhere near the baby cows.
Bree wanted her picture by the baby cows.

LOVE THAT GIRL!

She tried hard to be brave enough to feed the cows a carrot.

She tried really hard.
Breeley's preschool had a field trip to Hamblin Dairy Farms. It was a lot of fun. She enjoyed looking at the cows and was very cautious of not getting dirty. It is always so fun to go on this field trip.

Black Island Farms

Ready for the adventure.
Abell brought his best bud Eric.

Breeley was so excited to pick out her own pumpkin.

Hagen and Addison were excited to go on the hayride.

Breeley brought her baby. She said her baby had fun and stayed warm.

Hagen's pumpkin

Addison's pumpkin

Abell's pumpkin
Bree's pumpkin was so big she could barely hold it on her lap.
At the beginning of October we went to Black Island Farms for FHE. It was super fun. We first went on a hayride to pick out a pumkin. The kids had fun searching far and wide for their perfect pumpkin. After the hayride we played on the slides then we entered the corn maze. The maze was fun but very very long. We entered without a map and wandered around for what seemed like an eternity until Breeley could stand it no longer. And truthfully I had had more than enough of it. We ran into some of the worlds finest corn cops, and they guided us out of the crazy maze. The boys all had a blast and I am sure we will return next year.
