We are ready!

Getting the H1N1 seems inevitable.
I just want it to know I will try my best to kill it before it gets us.
My kids were pretty excited to have their own bottles to take to school.

Red and White

Addison and Hagen are celebrating Red Ribbon Week.
Today is Crazy Hair Day!

The carpool! (minus the kindergartner)
All boys.
All crazy.
Hagen had been asking all week for me to go to the store and buy red and white hair color for crazy hair day. Red and white are his Strikers team colors, so he wanted to get those colors so he could also use it to color his hair for some of his indoor soccer games.
Finally last night at about 7:30, I could put if off no longer. Hagen and I ran to Wally world to buy some hair color. When we found the hair color section of the halloweeen costumes they had the white, but no red.
Hagen was pretty sad.
We looked around for a stray bottle somewhere and didn't find one. We asked a Wally man and he said they might have some in a different location.
We looked.
We found.
Hagen said "I can't even describe the feelings I had when I saw that red can. I am so happy!"
I am so glad we found it. This morning he and Addison were so excited to go to school!

Living with Boys

As I laid in bed last night, I looked up at the ceiling fan and knew.
I knew that I would be safe.
Mr. Lego Man was watching over me.

Addison

Addison has been a little sick. Not really sick, but sick enough that I didn't want to send him to school with a slightly weakened immune system. (Who knows what he might catch) Anyway, last night while I went to young women's this is what I came home to. Addison laying in bed watching tv, with a wet washcloth on his forehead and the throw up bucket next to him. Adam was taking good care of him.

Me: Oh Addi, are you not feeling good? (Thinking he has become more sick while I was gone.)
Addi: Not really. (Not taking his eyes off the tv.)
Me: I am so sorry. (With really sympathetic eyes and my head slightly tilted.)
Addi: I just don't know how this is suppose to make me feel better. (points to wet washcloth on his forehead.) (Still not taking his eyes off the tv.)

I just laughed and took it off. Explained to him that sometimes it helps. It obviously wasn't helping him this time.

Crashing the hunting trip

Over fall break Adam took the two older boys hunting. They left on Thursday afternoon. The next day, I thought... well we can either sit around the house and play games together, or we can sit around the trailer and play games together. I asked Addison and Breeley if they wanted to stay home for the weekend or go camping for the weekend? They both yelled for camping. So I started packing and literally throwing things in the car so we could leave as soon as possible. I was able to get ahold of my dad on his truck phone and tell him we were on our way up. But he kept it a secret from Adam and the boys so they could be surprised. It was a great weekend. I am so glad that we went up there. I enjoyed the time with my family and I was glad I could have hot chocolate and warm food ready for the boys when they got back from their hunting hikes.
Everyone was happy with the way the weekend turned out.
We drove through a river!

For kinda a long time!

We played games while the older boys were hunting.

We also made necklaces and bracelets.

We took rides on papa's four wheeler.

Breeley got lots of extra rides.

We played with sticks.

We played with hats.

We took turns shooting guns.

Everyone took a turn pulling the trigger.

It was fun.

Some of us are better at it than others.
(Not one of my shots hit the can. Darn it!)

I love my family!

He's got school spirit... How 'bout you???

This week at WPJH is spirit week. Abell has had so much fun with it. He has dressed like a twin with his best friend Eric, worn mismatched shoes, dressed like a super hero, and today was 70's day. He made a late night call to Katie to see if she still had some of their halloween costume supplies still around, and she saved the day! He was super excited to wear the fro wig to school. Abell is loving Jr. high!

My Very Own Weekend.

This last weekend was the "Sassy Scrapbooking Weekend" although this time I decided not to scrapbook. I had a lot of little projects hanging around my craft room waiting to be completed. Since I have really not even opened any of my scrapbook stuff since the last "SSW", I thought I would be happier to get all those nagging projects completed. So to start a little show and tell...

I ordered the vinyl lettering for these blocks about 18 months ago. It has been patiently waiting it's turn to be placed on some blocks. (I ordered the lettering before I discovered sawdustsanity.blogspot.com) CHECK!
Same for this vinyl lettering. Luckily Adam was in town and was able to cut out the many blocks of wood I needed to get the project done. CHECK!

I saw a bag like this up at Swiss Days. It was done by a company named sweetandshabbydesigns.blogspot.com. I bought two patterns for darling rag quilts, but I thought I could just make my own bag in the size I wanted. I like how it turned out.

This is the back of the bag. It took forever for me to get the bag completed. I was glad I didn't have my kids interupting me while I was working on it. I know there is no way I would have been able to get it completed in one day. BTW, ssshhhh it's a christmas present for Breeley! CHECK!

Every time we go up to the "SSW" we make a little cha cha for each other. This is also something I saw at Swiss Days. I couldn't afford to buy one for everyone (18.00 each, I think), so I just made one for everyone. I made a total of 10 and each of them were different for all the different personalities. I made mine to match my craft room. CHECK! (I made these before I even got to the retreat!) P.S. Thanks for the help at Lowes Lisanne!!!

I sewed Hagen's Weblos badge that he received on Wednesday night. Party for me, it usually takes me six months to get these darn things actually sewn on! CHECK!

I got all of Abell's badges sewn on also. These poor guys only had to wait two months before they were taken care of. CHECK!

OOPPS. Sorry the picture is sideways. I stitched this about sixish months ago. Finally got it sewnd up to make a pillow. Still need to make it to the store to buy some stuffing. CHECK!

I also did this one about six months ago. Isn't it super cute. I got the patterns at Ben Franklin. It is designed by Twin Stitchers I think. CHECK!

By Saturday night I had accomplished all my projects (minus one that was too big to start) so I used some fabric scraps to make a few headbands. They are comfortable and dang cute in my hair!
I had a great weekend and came home with tons accomplished. It feels really good.
Hey guess what??? This is my 100th post!
