Today.

Wednesdays are busy days.

I usually have an errand or two to run in the morning.

(Like today, I went on a field trip with Addison!)

It's my day to pick up the kindergarten car pool.

Then it's my day to have "Drew Dog" come over after kindergarten to play until dance.

Then Breeley has dance at 3.

Then I used to have to pick up the boys from school but now I don't because of sweet Kate!

Then I pick up Breeley from dance and come home for 20 minutes.

Enough time for Bree to change her clothes.

Then I take Hagen to soccer at 4:30.

Then I take Breeley to tumbling at 5.

Then I watch her tumble.

Then I come home at 6.

Then I make dinner.

Then I find out why no one did their homework.

Then I make them do their homework.

Then I put kids to bed.

Then I clean up dinner.

Then I go to bed exhausted.

But today.

While Breeley is at dance.

I am going to stay.

and peek through the window in the door.

I am going to do something that will make me happy.

I am going to watch her dance.

It will be great!

March in one loooong breath...

Abell had a choir concert.

He played the part of "Bridesmaid" in his all boy choir.

Abell sings in two choirs at school.
Talk about TWO easy A's!

Hagen had a birthday! The big 12!
Yup, that's right!

Abell's choir sang at Festival. They did superdeduper!!

Addison and his buddies discovered basketball.
They play All. The. Time.

We puppy sat Piper.
Breeley discovered she can fit in Piper's kennel with both Piper and LulaKate!

Adam and I snuck away for a night in Lava.
We always have the best time in Lava! I heart Lava!

Addison showed Breeley how to play some games on the computer.

Addison spent ALL his birthday money (and all his allowance money) on a Kindle.

Hagen did too.

Breeley washed her hands like a monkey.

Breeley tumbled.

A few other things...

Our ward was split. Boo-hoo.
We became a member of the brand new Clinton 23rd ward. Yea!
Adam was called to serve as Second Counselor in the Bishopric.
I was called to serve as Secretary in the Relief Society.
Hagen received the priesthood.
We now have TWO deacons.
Hagen and Abell both pass the sacrament.
Together.
And they haven't fought while doing it.

Oh yea, Abell made Madrigals for next year!
Go Abell!

Today is a cookie day.

The aprons are on.

Breeley suggested I let her HAVE this apron.
"It just looks really great on me" She says.
Too bad it was made special for me by a great friend.
I am ready for spring. Are you??

We had a fun snow day!

We had a great day off from school last week.
The snow made it perfect.
I stayed in the house and made hot chocolate and cookies.
I think it was a win win kinda day!
Hagen built a snow chair by the mailbox.

Breeley had a great time sliding down the front yard.

Addison did too!

Abell made a chair on the driveway.
Too bad we had to plow it away a few days later.

Abell made a snow cave later in the day. Him and a friend worked on it for a long time.
It was nice to have the kids playing outside almost all day. They were really having a great time!
I wished I was walking a little better. I really wanted to take the kids sledding. But I just didn't dare. But we still had a great time!
Snow days are the best ever!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ADDISON!

Addison turned 9 this month!
We celebrated the whole day! We had a friend birthday party that started early in the morning. We had doughnuts and chocolate milk. For some reason that seemed better than cake and ice cream in the morning. We took the boys to see Gnomeo and Juliet. They had a lot of fun! The movie was pretty funny!

Addison and some of his best buds.

One of his favorite presents, Kirby and the Epic Yarn!
He told Katie he wanted a Gnome for his birthday. She searched long and hard and found the perfect one. After he opened the present he said "That's funny, I've never had a gnome before."

He also got two live frogs for his birthday. He named them Abraham and Lincoln. (Big Surprise!)I didn't get a half decent picture of them so we will have to post one later.

Right after the friend party, we had a family party. It was lots of fun too. When I asked him what he wanted for dinner he said he wanted to go the Pizza Factory. Adam and I took him out and after dinner we found out he only wanted to go there so he could buy himself a sucker with his birthday money. Too bad we didn't know that before we paid for dinner out. Oh well, it was nice to have some one on one time with him. It was pretty fun.

Addison is such a great kid. I love him too much most of the time. He is so smart and so funny. He keeps us entertained. I am so glad he is part of our family. I couldn't imagine life without him.
He is the best!

Addison Addison Addison

Last Thursday Addison had a lot to do. He had a book report coming up and he still had about 175 pages left to read. We had a very busy schedule for the days leading up to the report due date so we had to use his time very wisely. After he got home from school I explained to him that he needed to go into the living room and read his book. He had the Jr Jazz player appearance to attend in two hours. I needed him to read while I took Hagen to soccer practice.
The next few days were scheduled out pretty tightly with things that revolved around him. Birthday parties, movies, dinner date with mom and dad and then completing a one page paper written in cursive and shoebox stage thing for his book report just to name a few. So he really needed to be using his time wisely in getting his book read whenever he could.
I was clear.
Read your book now.
Then I took Hagen to soccer.
I came home an hour later.
Addison was downstairs watching tv.
I was upset.
I was really upset.
I felt like I did a good job of explaining to him that he needed to be reading.
I asked him what his plan was. When was he going to get his reading done, if he was going to be watching tv right now?
He didn't have a plan.
I told him he couldn't go to the Jr Jazz player appearance.
He cried.
I felt bad.
I left him home to read again while I went to the store to buy his class a birthday treat for the next day.
He called me while I was at the store and apologized.
I accepted the apology and told him to get reading.
I called Adam at work and explained the situation.
I always fold with the kids and don't follow through with my threats.
I felt I had been clear, and he needed to learn a lesson.
I was going to stay strong. Strong. Strong. Strong.
When I arrived home from the store I found this note on the garage door.
Dang it. That is so cute.

How many "really's" did he put???

Seriously, frowny faces???
Are you kidding me???
"Addison, grab your Jr Jazz jersey. We are going to be late for the player appearance."
He can learn his lesson next time.
:)
