Addison 3rd Grade!

Breeley Kindergarten!
(In her "Old Lady" pose.)

Breeley Kindergarten!

Well, this is a big year for our family.
All the children are in school part of the day every day.
I begged Breeley and Addison to stay home.
I promised them lots of fun things and exciting adventures if they would stay home with me all day. They both said no. (Rude!)
All the kids were excited for school to start.
(Different levels of excitement of course.)
Abell is back in Junior High.
He is in the 8th grade boys choir and also the 9th grade choir. He has already tried out and received a part in the school play Annie!
Hagen and Addison are attending a new school this year. We had a pretty rough year last year for Addison. Rough as in his teacher didn't try and really teach him anything. He started the year so far ahead of the rest of the class, that she just kinda put him aside and let him do his own thing. He took his encyclopedia's every day to read. I was pretty disappointed with her all year. So when an opportunity came for him to have something better, I really felt like I needed to get him in there.
Hagen has received a letter for the spectrum program every year. I never felt like it was the right place for him. So I never sent him to be tested. But after the year with Addison's teacher, and then both boys received a letter, I thought we would investigate it. They both took the test and were accepted. I had planned to wait and see what teachers they were assigned to at their current school to help me make the final decision. But once we accepted the spectrum positions, they pulled them out of their current school. So the decision was made. I let Hagen decide what he wanted to do. I was proud of him for deciding to go. He knew it would be harder. He knew he would have homework. He knew he wouldn't know anyone. But he still chose to try it. I am proud of him for that.
So far it has been great. I think I had the hardest time leaving Hagen on the first day of school. The spectrum class he is in has been together since 3rd grade. He was the only new boy in the class (one new girl too). But luckily for him there are two boys he knows from his soccer and basketball teams. So he already had friends. That was a great surprise!
Addison seems to really be enjoying learning. It seems like he is really getting something out of it. Like he is having to put forth a little effort.
So far, I feel like we made the right decision.
Breeley is attending kindergarten in our neighborhood school. That way, she can be with her friends. So, out of four kids, we have three schools to try and keep track of. Not to mention giving up our carpools that I loved so dearly. I have gone from driving once a week, to driving every day, there and back. But it feels good to be going the extra mile for them.

Breeley's Birthday Bonanza!

Breeley started the birthday bash with a haircut!
Then we went to the Newgate Mall to get her ears pierced!
Breeley has been waiting two years to get her ears pierced. We had decided to get her ears pierced for her 5th birthday.
Sorry no pictures. Only video that I can't figure out how to download to blogger.
The next day was Saturday. She was in the Roy parade with the Roy High Cheerleaders. Super fun. Her cousins Kenna, Keni and Kali were in the parade too! So much fun!

Kenna Loves Breeley!

Here is a pic with her earings! She picked the biggest diamonds they had!
Boy are they beautiful!

After the parade, we had a birthday party for her friends! We made bracelets, decorated cupcakes, painted fingernails, ate cake and ice cream...

And opened presents. The gumball machine was a hit!
She is taking in some serious money from her brothers and cousins.

She loved the party!

At her family party, she also had a lot of fun! She got some great presents! Her favorite was the pillow pets!
I spent an entire day driving all around town to find them. Thanks to facebook, I got the ones she loved!
5 things I love about Breeley!
1. She is such a girl! I love it!
2. She loves her family. She takes care of us all.
3. She loves playing with her friends. It's so much fun to listen to them play.
4. She is beautiful!!! Simply beautiful!
5. She loves tumbling. She is doing so great! Love it!

I am so thankful she is mine. I am so lucky to have such an amazing little girl!

Abell bought a GO CART!!!

Abell received some cash for his birthday. Cash ALWAYS burns a hole in Abell's pockets! I mean, if cash caused scars, Abells legs would look aweful! He had been wanting a go cart and with his birthday money, he had the hopes of it becoming a reality.
He found a go cart on ksl.
It was $100.00.
It needed a little work done.
He called and asked how much money the work would cost. An estimate.
Then he called back and asked if they would accept 80.00? Answer... Yes!
Then he called the Clinton Police Dept to see how illegal it was to drive.
Totally illegal.
He's under 16, no blinkers, not registered, you get the drift....
I explained to him that if he bought it, he wouldn't be able to drive it around the neighborhood much. Especially on the street.
He was okay with it.
So he called the sellers one more time and asked if him and his dad could go look at it.
He was home 30 minutes later with a go cart.
He has had so much fun.
It goes really really fast.
It makes him feel good.
It gives him something to tinker with.
A good purchase in my opinion. Sure beats spending his money at Wendy's.

Lava Lava Lava!

Abell
Abell

Adam, Breeley and Addison

Hagen
Hagen
For the 4th of July this year we went to Lava with some friends. For some reason, I didn't take one picture while we were at the Inn. Some of the activities included girls painting their toes with a patriotic theme, swimming at the pool, watching each other jump off the platforms, cooking dutch ovens, playing basketball in the gym, playing minute to win it!!! (The highlight)!
The only downside to the trip was that we stayed at the Lava School House Inn and the lady running it made the trip pretty miserable. She kept checking in on us, posted signs EVERYWHERE about what we could NOT do. She had a list a mile long of everything we could not do or she would cash my $150.00 deposit check. According to her, they are not zoned for everything. She made it pretty stressful for me (the one who wrote the check). It really became a joke for everyone about not being zoned. One kid even asked if we were zoned for eating hot dogs cooked on a fire. It was a joke, but really it was almost that bad!
Lesson learned...
Lava School House Inn... Crappy
Oregon Trail Lodge... AWESOME (Previous experience)
It still was good to spend time with our friends and let the kids get together!
